Welcome back to Mighty MERP with Melissa Rosenblum. 🎧 We've been joined by attorney Jill Roth-Gutman, who recently launched her own law-firm.  

Jill Roth-Gutman is the Managing Attorney of Roth-Gutman Law, providing consultations on New Jersey foster care, foster-to-adopt, child welfare laws, and the Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCPP, formerly DYFS). Consultation services are provided for potential caregivers looking to grow their family,  as well as current caregivers such as resource parents (foster parents), grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and adult siblings. 

Jill previously spent over 13 years as a Law Guardian, an attorney appointed by the state to advocate for children in litigated DCPP cases.  As a Child Welfare Law Specialist, Jill is certified by the National Association of Counsel for Children, a credentialing organization approved by the American Bar Association. She is licensed in New Jersey. 

She grew up in Parsippany, New Jersey. She received her Bachelor of Arts and Scholar’s Citation from the University of Maryland, College Park. She earned her Juris Doctor from New England Law Boston.
